Alloy system
ICD Group built a new system to add alloys at tap and trim using four main 200-cubic-foot hoppers fed by super sacks and mounted on load cells to give less than five-pound accuracy on each batch.
Alloys are fed to the ladle by a pivoting and liftable chute, then to the trim station by belt conveyor and pivoting chute. The result is more accurate heats and improved personnel safety.
